Shao，Yixiao：Strengthening the supervision of officials’ power is an effective measure against corruption

The political system in China nowadays is Communist Party of China (CPC)’s one-part autocracy, CPC makes decision for the Chinese people and there is no effective supervision from opposition party, the so-called Central Commission for Discipline inspection is only the internal organization of the CPC, it’s impossible for the commission to conduct impartial supervision; in order to achieve a truly effective anti-corruption, the CPC officials must self-discipline themselves, accept the legal constraints and independent oversight. How to effectively supervise the CPC’s official power? The first answer is to establish official property declaration system. By implementing the official property declaration system, all illegal and unscrupulous income will be exposed to the public, and the CPC’s official will be supervised by the public, only in this way, the CPC’s official will not dare to corruption while not able to corruption, thereby forming an uncorrupted administrative environment. The second answer is to encourage the independent media to supervise the CPC’s officials. The supervision from independent media is legitimate and public, it is an important means to restrain the official’s corruption. By promoting its transparency, the Chinese government can both eliminate the distrust from the public and also establish a good image to the public. The Third answer is launch a people’s war against corruption. Fighting against corruption is a protracted war, it cannot solely rely on CPC’s own self-discipline, it is the duty of every citizen to participate in this war, and we need to mobilize all the people in this war.
