Shao，Yixiao：Chinese people need freedom of speech

Freedom of speech refers to the people to be able to express their view and opinion publicly without fear of political prosecution; Chinese people do not have freedom of speech, they are afraid to express their views on the Chinese government and officials in public, until now, countless people have been wrongfully prosecuted and imprisoned for criticizing the Chinese government and officials. The freedom of speech is an important way for Chinese people to supervise their government and officials, however, under current Communist Party of China (CPC)’s one-party autocracy political system, it is an indisputable fact that the Chinese ordinary people do not have freedom of speech; Without the necessary supervision from people, the CPC’s official tends to abuse their public power, and the emergence of official corruption is inevitable. The Chinese government often draws a restricted area for the public in terms of speech, the ordinary people are prohibited to criticize the government and its officials, meanwhile people are often forced to be agree with the government’s propaganda. Freedom of speech is one of the natural human rights, this freedom is the basic elements of democracy, which should never be manipulated by political groups. The Chinese people need the freedom of speech, the Chinese government and officials should consciously accept the supervision from the general public, as a result, the Chinese government should allow and encourage the freedom of speech, rather than suppressing the freedom of speech.
