Shao,Yixiao:The Chinese people have the right to freedom of speech
邵一校(Shao,Yixiao)
Freedom of speech is part of modern democratic politics, the freedom of speech refers to a citizen to express his views and thoughts in his own will, without fear of being subjected to the government’s retaliation, it is the universal right of every citizen. Because of the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s one-part autocracy, the Chinese people have no freedom of speech, the ordinary people dare not to express their views of the government and its officials publicly, the Chinese government has absolute control over traditional media, such as television, newspaper and radio, and the government conduct public opinion propaganda through these media to “brainwash” the general public; in recent years, the government also increased monitoring and control of Internet, the means of censorship are becoming more stringent, any contents, as long as it relates to “ democracy, freedom, human right”, would be filtered without any hesitation. The Chinese government must allow ordinary people to participate in the supervision of government, the freedom of speech is a tool for participation and supervision, and the Chinese people must call on the current government to abandon autocracy before realizing democracy. If people cannot tell the truth and dare not tell the truth, how can we expect the supervision of the government and its officials?
