Shao，Yixiao：China’s education system should be fair and just

The allocation of educational resources in China is extremely unreasonable, first, China’s education in city and in countryside is distinct-different, Chinese government invested the majority of the educational funds into school in the cities, resulting the inequality of educational opportunities for children in countryside, regardless of school education facilities or the faculty, the educational resources occupied by the urban population are far superior to the rural population, except that, the Chinese government strictly enforced the policy of household registration, which caused the children of urban residents and children of rural households to suffer injustice at the starting line. Second, the allocation of educational resources between the eastern coastal areas and the western inland areas in China are uneven. The economic development in the eastern coastal region is significantly higher than the Midwest, as do the educational resources investment, while the western educational resources allocation is insufficient, and the educational development level in the west is relatively backward. Third, the educational resources distribution between elite schools and ordinary schools are imbalanced; the excessive government support policy to the elite schools, leading to the imbalance of educational development among schools in the same region. The Chinese government must completely change the current state of education inequality, in order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to reform the current unreasonable education system and the official’s backward ideas, gradually adjust and rationally allocate educational resources, improve the transparency of educational funding usage, and prevent the corruption of education officials. At the same time, to realizing fair and just education, it is vital to systematically guarantee the investment of educational resources in both rural and underdeveloped areas, as well as promote balanced economic and educational development in those areas.
