Shao,Yixiao:The corruption of Chinese officials has led to public resentment
邵一校(Shao,Yixiao)
The Chinese Community Party (CCP) official’s corruption case reported by the news has surged recently, the public is all stunned when hearing the news reports that the amount of corruption is hundreds of millions or even billions, the Chinese people are extremely angry with those brazen CCP officials. The ordinary people in China get up early and work hard every day for their livelihood, while those corrupted officials live a life of feasting, the fancy luxuries and imported high-end cars are their daily routine, corruption, dereliction of duty and abuse of power are the norm to them, overall, their value of the world is twisted. Compared with elected officials in Europe and the United states who take public transportation or commute to work on bicycles, do Chinese officials NOT feel ashamed? Authoritarian regimes tend to breed official corruption more easily; in contrast to today’s Chinese government officials, the government officials in Europe and the United States are highly efficient and honest. The privileged officials in China have distorted the values of the public, corrupted the social atmosphere, negatively affected economic development, and hindered China’s democratization process. The fundamental reason for the rampant official corruption in China today is the CCP’S authoritarian politics system and the so-called nepotism. It is obviously impossible to cut the Gordian knot solely relying on the power of such political party, the history told us that the corruption of government officials is prone to occur when the political power of a country’s ruling party is neither supervised by public opinion nor checked and balanced by other political parties, only by abolishing the political system of CCP’s one-party autocracy and establishing a democratic system supervised by independent public opinion can we effectively curb corruption.
