Chen, Shuhua :China still has intellectuals with conscience
陈淑华(Chen, Shuhua)
Although mainland China has tightened controls and severely suppressed intellectuals with different opinions, there are still scholars and professors who are not afraid of rape and dare to stand up and express their views.
For example, some teachers at Peking University have expressed different opinions on the current handling of the Hong Kong issue by the authorities. They believe that the Hong Kong issue cannot be resolved only through suppression. The CCP must change its mindset and strengthen dialogue and communication to have a real way out.
The mission of intellectuals is not to ignore the reality and sing praises and sing praises without telling the truth, but to expose and criticize society based on moral conscience, and to arouse vigilance and vision when they discover problems.
And Chinese intellectuals have a long tradition of taking the rise and fall of the country as their own duty, speaking up for the people's orders, voicing and clearing up current affairs, always standing in the forefront of society, sacrificing themselves and advancing forward, and chanting to promote historical progress.
China has such intellectuals, and the future of the nation is promising.
Since the founding of the Communist Party of China, in order to implement the dictatorship to suppress dissent and brutally stifle the patriotic traditions of intellectuals, it has first suppressed imprisonment through continuous political campaigns, forced literati to kneel and beg for mercy, and then used materials to lure promoted officials to make money and win allegiance. The two-pronged approach of one hard and one soft is very effective. As a result, many intellectuals no longer care about the development of the current situation and lack public awareness. They only think about themselves. They only want to make a lot of money, how much status they can rise, and what benefits they will have in the future. They even become a typical cynic intellectual.
Really like Liu Xiaobo, intellectuals who uphold the tradition of worrying about the country and the people have become a minority. This is the reason why the CCP's dictatorship can continue, and it is also the sorrow of the contemporary nation.
China needs more intellectuals with conscience to pay attention to China's destiny and future.
