China＇s current suppression of citizens’ speech has been intensified. Not only has it passed laws prohibiting criticism of the government, but it has also waved the banner of "discussing the central government" at will, arbitrarily detaining political hats, and persecuting ordinary people who care about national affairs.
Freedom of speech is a basic right of modern citizens. It has been included in the constitutional provisions of most countries and has been implemented.
Under modern democratic politics, citizens participate in state management by freely expressing opinions, using various methods to express their personal opinions, defend their rights and interests, state current affairs views, exchange opinions with each other, openly discuss national affairs, and then reach a certain consensus, which is formed through legislation. Public policies are implemented.
Nowadays, more and more Chinese people realize the value of freedom and are eager to obtain true freedom of speech. However, under the severe suppression of the authorities, the Chinese people dare not or cannot publicly express their political views.
If China wants to implement democratic politics, it must open up freedom of speech.
