Duan,Wenzhe: “Enforced disappearance” violates international law
段文喆(Duan,Wenzhe)
The CCP adopted "forced disappearance" to attack Chinese human rights lawyers, a serious violation of human rights! Violation of international law!
The CCP has intensified its persecution of mainland human rights lawyers. In addition to detention and sentencing, another method is to create disappearances.
It often happens that some active human rights lawyers suddenly disappear and cannot be found anywhere, and there is no news from the CCP government. They just disappear for no reason.
Such situations, defined as "enforced disappearances" in international human rights treaties, are usually perpetrated by, or at the behest of, authoritarian governments. Enforced disappearances are a vile and gross violation of human rights, a form of police state terror, and are severely prohibited and condemned under international law.
Enforced disappearance will bring an atmosphere of terror to the person concerned and his family, and even to the whole society.
Everyone lives in a state of panic and fear, and at some point they will be forcibly disappeared by the authorities, and they will never see their relatives and friends again.
This horrific practice by the CCP should end as soon as possible.
Chinese human rights lawyers who advocate justice should also obtain their own human rights.
