He,Yan :Talking about the lifelong system of Chinese state leaders
贺炎(He,Yan)
The tenure of Chinese state leaders has been restored in China again! Is this social progress or regression? The answer is self-evident. Because the world develops and progresses in civilization.
In the early days of China’s reform and opening up, drawing on the experience of socialist countries and drawing lessons from the political movement of the Cultural Revolution, the CCP amended the constitution to stipulate that the national leadership posts should be subject to a tenure system, with a maximum of two terms and no re-election.
It is hoped that through this kind of regulation, the opportunities for individual dictatorship will be reduced and the country will not go in the wrong direction. Since then, successive leaders of the Communist Party of China have also implemented this amendment to the constitution.
But in recent years, a trend of strongman politics has begun to appear in China.
This trend of thought emphasizes that in a country like China with a large population, a wide variety of regions, and an extremely unbalanced economic, cultural and educational development, only under the governance of strong and authoritative leaders can various development plans be implemented, the sustained economic growth be promoted, and the realization of the Chinese nation revival. This trend of thought also believes that the democratic system is not suitable for China at this stage, and elections can only lead to quarrels, confusion, inefficiency, and even fragmentation.
The CCP also advocates that for the long-term interests of the Chinese nation, the Chinese people must sacrifice their personal rights to obey their wise leaders.
In this context, the CCP arbitrarily revised the constitution and abolished the term system, and China has become a feudal country with imperial power and autocracy.
