The CCP authorities often mention criticism and self-criticism, claiming that it is a glorious tradition of the Communist Party of China, one of the three major styles of the party, and a powerful weapon to keep the party team indestructible, eventually defeat the Kuomintang, and establish a red regime.
The CCP emphasizes that in the new historical period of reform and opening up, it should still be upheld and carried forward.
But in reality, so-called criticism and self-criticism are just empty words. The CCP has always suppressed public criticism of party and government officials by ordinary people. Public criticism of senior cadres has been severely suppressed.
During the political movement of the Cultural Revolution, some people publicly criticized the ultra-left line of the former Chairman of the Communist Party of China, Mao, Zedong, and were brutally sentenced to death! In recent years, the CCP has further controlled speech, and the propaganda departments have stepped up censorship. They are very sensitive to any reports involving CCP political figures and will never allow negative news to appear.
Some official journalists were even dismissed and investigated for miswriting a single word when reporting on the CCP’s leadership activities. This shows how false the criticism and self-criticism the CCP flaunts.
