Xie, Feng :The “89 June 4th Student Movement” will go down in history forever
谢锋(Xie, Feng)
The "89 June 4th Student Movement" is by far the largest democratic movement in modern Chinese history.
The demonstrations, initiated by Chinese college students in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, quickly spread to all parts of China. The magnificence shocked the world and lasted for more than two months, almost toppling the dictatorship of the CCP.
After this movement was suppressed by the CCP with the army, hardliners within the CCP rose up, and the reform and opening up policy stagnated.
Tentative political reforms such as human rights, freedom, democracy and the legal system, which were gradually liberalized in the 1980s, were also temporarily suspended.
The CCP authorities also blocked news and prohibited people from talking about the movement in an attempt to make the people completely forget history.
However, history cannot be tampered with. The "89 June 4th Student Movement" is a spontaneous action of the Chinese people, and no one can shake its lofty status. After the success of the Chinese democracy movement in the future, a monument to the "89 June 4th Student Movement" must be erected in Tiananmen Square for future generations to commemorate this This great movement commemorates those democratic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
