In China＇s feudal society more than 3,000 years ago, the word "democracy" had already appeared.
But "democracy" refers to "the ruler of the people," which means monarch or official. It reflects a kind of feudal autocratic rule, which is completely different from the meaning of "democracy" in ancient Greece and modern world history.
The use of the concept of "democracy" in its original Greek meaning and in its modern sense has only happened in the past hundred years or so in China.
With the continuous enrichment and development of modern democratic theory and democratic practice around the world, the connotation and extension of "democracy" have also become increasingly enriched and expanded. The word "democracy" has now become a concept used by people in a very broad sense.
