       Mikhail Gorbachev Can’t Save China from Autocracy


       In those democratic countries, democracy has been achieved in a natural and easy way. However, nobody sees that democracy can be achieved in the same way. Chinese Communist Party has built the most rigorous autocratic regime in the history. Given the magnitude and the power of the Communist regime, people should not be under such a delusion that the Communist Party is willing to achieve democracy. Many people hope what Mikhail Gorbachev did in Russia would happen in China. It’s wrong. There won’t be a Chinese version Gorbachev or Yeltsin. Geographically Russia is close to the Europe and culturally Russia is influenced by the Europe. Quite the contrary, Chinese culture is deeply rooted in feudalism.
