Zhenghu Piao: Democracy and Freedom is Not Illusory
In international affairs, America’s reason behind her action is inarguable and undoubted. For example, the reason for her to launch the war in Iraq is to pursue “Iraq’s democracy and freedom.” Yet, in some no democracy and freedom countries’ people’s eyes, how does the “democracy and freedom” become illusory?!
In the 21st Century, democracy and freedom today has become the basic values and politic civilization’s fundamental principles which are recognized by most countries long time ago. This is an undeniable fact. Actually, as a political tenet for the world’s prosperity and human being’s happiness, “democracy and freedom” is the only effective way that people can find to realize those above facts. This was proved repeatedly by the history of the mainstream countries, and will be proved by people’s practice as well. Also, for the countries that have not truly realized democracy and freedom, they are sublime and inviolable pursuits. Nevertheless, maybe it’s true that “any good stuff in the world will lose its essence when put in China,” even when the higher-ranking officials emphasize the importance of building a political civilization, our people still indiscriminately claim that “democracy and freedom” is “illusory” ! Do they really believe that only tyrannical ruling is touchable and an unalterable principle? More ironically, those kind of nonsense is a misleading to the public opinion and a reflection of the people who often run off at the mouth, lack occupation ethics and academic conscience. It’s also an extremely irresponsible and dangerous behavior!
Many Chinese “specialists” and “scholars” often give people a shocking impression for their underdevelopment, conservativeness, infantility, and crankiness for their minds. This is why nobody respects most alleged “specialists” and “scholars” in China. Because those people only dare to take the advantage of democratic countries’ tolerant political environment and freedom of speech to attack their leaders without any benignancy, but dare not to speak out a word for tyrannical countries’ atrocity.
