Fang Hua: Why Does the CCP Suppress the Movement to Protect People’s Rights
In recent years, a movement was launch in China for the protection of people’s rights. This is a continuity of the Chinese people appeal to the CCP for a law protection. This movement which is launched by the ordinary people was called by the CCP in 2002 a “the year to protect people’s rights”. Within no time, ads, TV program and website for the right protection were created. Unarguably, this kind of large-scale and high-participated movement is good for propagating a law system, citizens’ rights, individual’s value, and a citizen-centered society.
Yet, the movement quickly promotes the Chinese people’s awakening in politics. The direct effect of the movement makes the citizens clearly realized the importance of the law system and supervision; realized the harm from a non-supervised power.; realized tyranny is go against people, democracy, and law. The activity of protect people’s rights makes the number of appeals increase dramatically. On the internet, the voice to against corruption, persecution and tyranny is strong. People become more eagerly to protect their political or economic rights. This is beyond the CCP’s expectation. At last, the CCP has to rip off its mask of “ruled by law, and supervised and selected by people.”
