Chi, Lanmei: Autocratic Chinese Officials’ Powers Are Not Restricted
In the current Chinese society, he who owns the powers owns everything. This reflects the overwhelming state of mind of the autocratic authorities. Formation of this state of mind reflects that powers of the Chinese officials are expanding viciously and continuously growing low. When people around someone are flattering him and obeying him all the time, he will believe there is nothing he can not do, nothing he dares not do, even when he has to use violence.
In China, mafias are connected with authorities and powers grow violent. This is becoming more and more serious and reflects morals are diminishing and legal systems are doomed to failure and authorities are going further and further away from justice. People in China often say that the officials will do anything for the power and money and as a matter of fact, they do. The officials are doing everything vicious. They choose to make use of violence and mafias. This proves that our legal system can not provide sufficient threats to their wrong doings and that “Powers overrides laws”.
When a society insists an autocratic political system, and refuses speech freedom, media freedom, and freedom to form clubs, and when powers are abused in black boxes, powers will become wild animals full of blood and violence. Let’s call for the earliest birth of a democratic and liberal China.
