Luo, WeiMing: China people do not need such changes
Under the Chinese Government slogan of “Economic Construction as the center of everything”, the whole nation become merchant, and money comes first. They sacrifice the rural village, decorate the city. Cities around the country start their image projects, political achievement projects, face projects and etc. Numerous projects result in endless profit making. CCP officials were happy to use the power in their hands, and they wholesale land. Low-priced land in exchange for the higher rebate.
Countless projects burns billions of dollars and create the appearance of Chinese cities "rapid" and "earth-shaking" changes. However, in the construction, money and power exchange, all parties involved in bribery, materials were cut short, less perfect material were charged as premium prices, corruption reaches from bottom to top. This results in many “Bean curd Projects”. Bridges tumbled, highway collapsed, tragedies alike occurs everywhere. In Shanghai, too many high-rise buildings cause the ground level to dip. Capital Beijing looks magnificent but won’t stand a hit of rain storm. This already proves that Chinese cities with brilliant outlooks are indeed a lamp made of paper; one poke will penetrate it all. Just like a golden looking orange with rotten staff inside. People have been in and out China is stunned by the “Amazing Changes of China”. However, those changes are only windows of decoration that appears to be flashy but meaningless.
