                             Yang, Xiaochun: Liberty of Speech is People’s Basic Right

As well known the liberty of speech is not privilege, it’s the basic right that everybody should and must have. Just like any governments have no right to monopolize the air, the water and the sunshine, any governments have no right to monopolize the people’s liberty of speech. In fact Chinese people are not against China becoming a powerful country if Chinese people can give speech freely, if the government can respect people’s liberty of speech like respect human-beings’ need of the air, the water and the sunshine. But the international society don’t wish China be more powerful, who send the missiles into outer space while throw people into the hell.
Chinese government calls itself the people’s government. The government should respect every citizens’ liberty of speech and must emphasize that liberty of speech is human-beings’ basic right. Otherwise the government how to flaunt itself is people’s government?
