                                                             Jia Hu was detained 12/27/2007

The lawyer Jinsong Li disclose that Chinese police formally arrested AIDS and human-right supporter Jia Hu who was charged with overthrowing nation authority.
When BBC Chinese Department interview him, lawyer Jinsong Li of Jia Hu’s lawyers said Chinese police formally arrested Jia Hu on 01/29/2008 in legal time limit instead of detaining him and delivered his wife Jinyan Zeng the Arrest Authorization.
Jinyan Zeng and their new-born daughter were in position of home arrest after Jia Hu was detained by Chinese police on 12/27/2007.
Lawyer Jinsong Li said that Jia Hu’s parents were permitted to visit Jia Hu in jail on Thursday, 31.
This was first time Jia Hu met outside world after he was detained.
Jia Hu’s father said Jia Hu was treated well and his health condition was good.  
Lawyer Jinsong Li said that day was the birthday of Jia Hu’s father’s and Jia Hu was permitted to cut birthday cake for his father to celebrate.

Jia Hu’s lawyers were not permitted to visit Jia Hu in the jail. Lawyer Fangping Li of Jia Hu’s lawyers showed that he ever was in home arrest by the government.
Jia Hu work for AIDS patients’ rights and ever protected people who were order to move their homes. He published several articles on internet to criticize Chinese government’s internal and external policies.
Jia Hu and his wife were awarded China Award by un-boundary journalist organization and France Fund.  
Human-right organizations think Jia Hu being arrested show Chinese government will take hard rule and way to clean dissidents before 2008 Olympic Games.
European Union, UAS and other international organization have ever appealed Chinese government to release Jia Hu immediately.
