Jin, Chenwu: Reflection on 6•4 Tian Men Event in 1989 after 18 Years It Happened

Chinese human-right movements have been increasing recent years in China. Chinese political movements have changed deeply from 6•4 Tian Men Event in 1989. Intellectuals, who persists political reform, have no voice now and were superseded by peasants and common people living in the bottom of the society. The crisis of Chinese reform has not been a peaceful reform but a violent riot. If Tian Men Event in 1989 was raised by rational intellectuals, nowadays conflicts are raised by common people, who are living in the bottom of the society and seldom think on rational way. If these common people were just stander-bys on Tian Men Event in 1989, they stand in the front line of human-right movements now.
These eighteen years are an unstable period of Chinese political changing and the most pathetic period of China. But Chinese political crisis is that when violence or antagonism becomes the only way to resolve the conflict, Chinese harmonious society maybe be superseded again by revolution.
