Liu, Liya: Opening Freedom of Speech can Promote Civilization and Progress Chinese Society
Democratic societies allow people to make the different voices and allow people to express their options through any media anytime anywhere. People can criticize the government unreservedly, officials even President. The root reason is that people in democratic countries aren’t fully restricted in speech and are protected by the countries’ laws.
People living in Chinese society have no right of free speech. Chinese people can’t speech at will. Due to “party concept” infused by Chinese communist for a long time, Chinese people are made know outside world as little as possible. Chinese people aren’t allowed to present suggestions and prohibited to criticize the government. Otherwise, they will be judged to commit crime to violate society stability by the government. People couldn’t understand concepts such as democracy, freedom, human rights, nomocracy, fairness and richness, and civilization and progress of Chinese society will be promoted, unless Chinese society opens freedom of speech.
