Yang, Shankai: Opinions of Contemporary Youngsters
As the 1980’s young generation, some of us just stepped into the society, and some of us even haven’t stepped out of campus. It seems that we haven’t experienced the baptism of the political storms such as June 4th event. However, it doesn’t show that our thinking doesn’t keep up with fashion, doesn’t show that our figures should appear on the political stage.
We born in 1980’s have received the brain-washing education from Chinese communist since our childhood. When at primary school, we regarded it as an honor to join Young Pioneers-the organization of Chinese communist for primary school pupils. The teachers and consultants of Young Pioneers infused us a confusing concept all the time, which is national flag and Young Pioneers scarf were dyed red with the martyrs’ blood.
Now, I reconsider and find that the childish innocence at that time can’t afford the burden of this impassioned analogy. We at that time thought that many pioneers sacrificed their lives for the country and people. We couldn’t live like today without them. There is no great Chinese communist without them. There are no our food to eat and our clothes to wear. So we performed very well at school and became one of the first group to join Young Pioneers at that time. When the teacher dressed me the Young Pioneers scarf, I was too excited and thought that it is a supreme honor and even symbol of my dignity. A thought that I need to love my country and love Chinese communist naturally generated.
Since that moment, maybe I related loving country to loving party, even mixed them up together. But my joy didn’t last long. By the year of graduating from the primary school, a part of my classmates didn’t join Young Pioneers, however, the teacher asked them to pay money for Young Pioneers scarf and membership fees, and then these classmates became the formal Young Pioneers members. At that time, I was just over 11 years old. For the lyric-successors to communism appearing in the Young Pioneers song, I was confused whether the successors are the diligent people like me or people who paid money for Young Pioneers scarf and became Young Pioneers members like my classmates. I saw my confusion about school and communism. At that time, I didn’t know whether it is a harm to my young heart or not. I only thought that party organization and the supervisors in school must be right, because they are communists.
I entered middle school and faced to the recruitment of Chinese communist organization-Communist Youth League. I remember that my application to join and the seeming solemn joining ceremony. I am one of the first group to join Communist Youth League. I thought that I am approaching to party closely. But the same thing happened on the year by I graduated from high school at my age of 18. The school branch of Communist Youth League allowed the students who hadn’t joined Communist Youth League to join Communist Youth League by paying membership fee and certificate fee. Thus, those students who didn’t effort, even fight and make trouble on weekdays joined this preparative force that seems noble and pure organization. I was sure that I was disappointed at Communist Youth League. From then on, I started deliberating that Chinese communist- the only political party in this country can recruit its so-called preparative force in this way. Where are ruling power public credibility for this party? Where is yearly membership fees paid by us spent on, before and after we joined Communist Youth League. I had a feeling that I was cheated. However, this deceit had lasted from my primary school to my high school for 12 years. During the most important years that my outlook on value and life formed, I was cheated like this by Chinese communist that I considered as political ideal. It was really a pity.
At this time, I started dissatisfaction and even detestation to Chinese communist. With increasing my life experience, the understanding of youngsters like us on Chinese situation has deepened. The effect of brain-washing imposition on us by Chinese communist has diluted and even disappeared. Many historic truths are spread among youngsters of my generation, which seems to overthrow the content on textbooks. The reason is that internationally all countries are communicating and merging, so we are influenced by the international advanced cultures and thinking fashion, which hardly comes true under Chinese communist’s ruling, but is longed for by youngsters like us. As a legal Chinese citizen, we have never got some basic rights such as negative defense rights including freedom of person, freedom of politics, freedom of religion. Chinese constitution regulates that country can’t obstacle the citizens to exert these rights, and country must protect the citizens whose these rights are violated. But many true facts tell us that Chinese ruling class-Chinese communist doesn’t protect the citizens who actively exert these rights, and also suppresses or deprives them of these basic rights. Under Chinese communist’s ruling, many democratic people who pursue the democracy campaigns and religious belief got separated from their families and damaged or killed by the suppression of Chinese communist.
China history and world history, no tyranny can win people’s advocacy, and the tyranny without people’s support couldn’t rule for a long term. Pursuing rights is the born instinct of human, which is a gift given by God and can’t be eliminated by anything. That human history and civilization evolved until today is the result of struggling of the ruling class and the ruled class. And all phenomena show that the ruling class can coexist with people peacefully only in a country where human rights and basic rights regulated by laws are truly protected, and country can develop stably and healthily. As one of new generation of youngsters, it is my pleasure to watch presidential election of the most democratic country-USA, which is evaluated as historical event of “Political game played by rich”. Now, I can overthrow the lies made by Chinese communist with my own wisdom, because I feel democratic power and greatness of human rights, which should be the leading force in a great country, but they are deprived by Chinese communist authority. I think that a question why USA has stood on the peak of world over 200 years haunted me is finally resolved by myself. Through this USA presidential election, USA people gave me a perfect answer. My many classmates who entered the society got fluctuated in finding jobs. Even some who got jobs are excluded and can’t play their talents well under social atmosphere of trade between money and power, because they don’t have a powerful family background. Especially, in the state-owned enterprises, some of them don’t strive to join Chinese communist to change their situation. In their own words, they don’t want to become evil due to joining Chinese communist. Even though some of them who joined Chinese communist can’t speak chapter of Chinese communist, their only goal is to help decrease restraint in their careers. This is one unique Chinese phenomena-formalism whose biggest feature is existing form with no entity. It can be imagined how long a ruling part whose members can’t understand part chapter can last with democratic tide overwhelming. I am criticizing some my classmates who actively joined Chinese communist for their careers and futures, on the contrary, I am only sympathizing them. In a party where corruption is prevailing, I wonder if they can keep the arrogance of being incorrupt among their corrupt colleagues making private profits with official power as much as possible, and how long they can keep incorrupt, and if they will be assimilated to become the criminals who hurt others and themselves. But if they are really incorrupt and unique in a corrupt dirty environment, how long can they survive.
Chinese aspiring youngsters ever initiated the patriotic May 4th movement to promote China into a new revolutionary democracy peak as the main force. Now, in USA with the developed democracy system, I feel the happiness that democracy brought to people as one of the new generation of aspiring youngsters. I am longing to put my force into promoting movement tide to end up one-party autocracy and realize democratic China. Now, I can use my judgment to think that loving country doesn’t loving Chinese communist and new China will be founded with no Chinese communist. I commit my own political ideal to China Democracy World Union, and I believe that one more person supplies one more force which can realize democratic China soon.
