Li, Yaping: Protecting environment is a job of participation of the entire population

China is one of the most developed regions in the current world economy, and the environmental problem has also caused world concern. Over these years, Chinese government pursues economic development unilaterally which weakens environmental protection; since the regional imbalance of Chinese economic development, developed region pushed the development of jumping-off region; but with the economy goes up, the extent of destroyed environment is also enlarging.
In the United human beings environment meeting of Stockholm in 1972, delegates suggested the opening day June 5 as “World Environment Day”, and formally confirmed June 5 of every year as “World Environment Day” in the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. World Environment Day is to remind world to pay attention to global environmental situation and the environmental danger caused by human activities. And on this day, every place of the whole world will carry out propagandistic action to protect environment by surrounding some theme.
The current environmental problem in China is extremely serious. As a government, one should firstly take full advantage of June 5 of each year—“World Environment Day”—to exercise propagandistic activity by publicizing the meaning of protecting environment, and to let Chinese people realize the importance of protection environment. Protecting environment is not only a matter of government, but a problem which needs the participation of the entire population.
