Yang, Xiaoxian: Chinese people need freedom of speech
Freedom of speech is not a non-essential spiritual privilege, but is a natural right for everyone. It is like any government can monopolise natural resources without any power, any government cannot deprive people of the right of freedom of speech. Actually, Chinese people are not oppose China to be a major economic and political country; if people in this country can speak freely, if the government of this country fully respect people’s freedom of speech, then Chinese society is a society of freedom of speech.
Today, Chinese government call itself “people’s government”, then it should do consider from the angle of people, and hold the opinion that freedom of speech is inalienable inborn human rights to truly respect every citizen’s right to speak freely. Otherwise, with what of CCP authority parades itself a “people’s government”?
