Wang, Tao: Chinese petition organizations are not the right place for people to go
Almost all circles of Chinese government establish petition organizations which make people lose their confidence, and people call it “road of no return”. Actually, local government officials are not afraid of people’s petitions because the questions they asked about Chinese current petition system will go back to the desk of local government officials’.
Local government officials are afraid of petitioners go to Tiananmen Square directly to show the banner and sue CCP officials’ living place the most in special times, such as holidays, to “sue foreign affairs” to consulate. So CCP authorities hold the opinion that petitioners will affect a lot in the international scale, and then they persecute petitioners with all sorts of excuses.
Nowadays, Chinese government petition organizations exist in name only. Chinese people are expecting a place for them to speak, and an organization that can actually punish corrupt officials. Chinese government should legislate of petition work and establish a channel for communicating with petitioner. Otherwise, promoting Chinese human rights is empty talk, let alone establishing harmonious society.
