Zhou, Ying: “Harmonious society” must guarantee human rights

Chinese government always emphasizes to establish a “harmonious society”, which should be established on spirit of law, and to realize a clement and tolerant society. This is the basic status quo of harmonious society.
Currently, Chinese society is an autocratic society, and the “harmonious society” under such system is a nominal one; since establishing “harmonious society” must be based upon democratic system and lawful system which holds the democratic principle.
In addition, to guarantee people’s human rights is a way to realize “harmonious society”. If Chinese society can deeply infuse the concept of human rights to people, then the action of anti-human rights of government will decrease. To achieve this, the government should work harder to let people understand the concept of guaranteeing human rights in “harmonious society”.
