Wang, Haiyan: Protesting against autocracy can lead to democracy and freedom
Chinese people’s common wish is to oppose autocratic repression and pursuing democratic freedom. What people facing is the powerful CCP autocratic government which uses violence to maintain its regime. People lose confidence to this government. Each Chinese people hope to have an environment with human rights, freedom and safety, own space with freedom of speech.
Nowadays, Chinese government can rarely give safety and freedom to people. All of these are decided by nature of autocratic government. The main characteristic of officials’ autocracy is the monopoly upon power which necessary result in the scrambling for power and wealth among officials. Once official own his absolute power, they can enjoy the interests that power brings.
Therefore, if Chinese society don’t change autocratic regime, there will never be the justice and fairness, people will never get peace. Only the Chinese government abandons autocratic system and realizes democratic freedom, then every Chinese people can have a safe environment, and lead to affluence. They can really own the space for freedom of speech.
