Jing Bing Zhang: Allow the General Public of China to Take Part in the works of Anti-Corruption
In the struggle of Chinese government’s Anti-Corruption, the reason why it appears to be so ineffective is due to the fact that the authorities who are in charge of anti-corruption are corrupt themselves; in other words, it is a game of big corrupters against small corrupters. Although some corrupt authorities are being captured, none of them seems to admit his or her crime sincerely. This is not because what they have been charged is conflict with the truth; instead, the officials who are in charge of his or her case are being far more corrupt than them.
Frankly speaking, no one Chinese official is innocent of being corrupt, the only difference is that some are big corrupters and some are small corrupters. If Chinese government intends to achieve success over the war of anti-corruption, they must do it under the scrutinizing of the general public. It doesn’t matter whether it is a governor, a mayor, as long as being corrupt, he or she must be fought against. Higher rank officials can fight against lower rank officials; similarly, lower rank officials can also fight against higher rank officials; moreover, our civilians who have no power at all can fight against the officials who hold the power.
Meanwhile, it is necessary to establish a national system of anti-corruption, permitting the mass media objectively reporting all the corruption cases and allowing the general public to take part in and monitor the works of anti-corruption directly.
