Yu, Hongmei: Chinese Government Must Crack down on Corrupt Officials
Yu, Hongmei
When CCP did not take power, it used to preach democracy and freedom, anti-autocracy and anti-corruption because back then Chinese people were suffering from war. Chinese people wish for a good government. However, during 60 years within CCP’s regime, officials of all levels are corrupt, especially during the 30 years of advocacy of economic development, more and more officials are corrupt with bigger amount of money. Today China is the most corruptive country in the world.
Serious corruption lead a unfair life to Chinese people, increasing their living costs. Though Chinese government has taken a series of anti-corruption measures, it does not improve the situation.
To effectively constrain the corruption, Chinese government has to reform the social system and end the singular party rule of CCP. Only a reasonable social system can maintain judicial independence and supervise officials’ powers and prevent corruption from system.
