Liu, Xilong: a better education system depends on a good social system

The Chinese communist government left a very active and positive image in the Chinese people’s minds for their attitude towards education; and many officials are claiming that the poorness in the government does not matter, we can never be too generous to the education system. Yet it seems nowadays that this is totally a lie: the richest people in the world are Chinese government officials and cadres, and the poorest people are ordinary Chinese people, many of who cannot even afford to pay for their children’s education.
The Chinese government said that they attach great importance to education, but sixty years passed, the policies and methods about education still exist in name only; the education system does not develop, and no increase of investment is put into education system; thus many schools lack education budget and have to stop running. That is because the corruption problem, from the government’s education administrative organizations to schools, which prevents the normal development of education.
For government and education department cadres, they need to rethink profoundly the problems from the education department, and the direction of education development; punish whoever have corruption problems.A better education system depends on a good social system, and cannot be solved by only some government issued papers and non-sense talking.
