Meng, Qingkun: Call on Chinese government to pay attention to environmental protection

In recent years, the air and water pollution phenomenon has increased seriously in China. The food safety issues have happened in highly developed economies of the big cities. Recently, the milk scandal broke; during the two conferences CPPCC and NPC were held in Beijing, very low visibility dust haze was happened; most recently, found the bodies of thousands of dead pigs floating on the surface of the Huangpu River in Shanghai.
Serious environmental pollution problems caused the complained again and again from Chinese people. Investigated the root of pollution, first, is the institutional problem and mismanagement; second, is the connivance of corrupt government to make illegal corporate emissions of hazardous industrial waste gas, waste water; third, is only the surface governance about environmental pollution. The data shows that the number of cancer cases increase frequently. Even though the economy is growing up in China, the quality of people＇s lives is declining. Is this the fate of the Chinese people? Chinese government officials are corrupt, and they ignore the peoples’ even the national next generations’ health in order to protect their own benefits.
Chinese people are concerned about the environment, we call on the Chinese government pay attention to environmental protection, and the importance of using various media campaigns to protect the environment in order to improve people＇s awareness of environmental protection, strengthen environmental protection legislation to increase the funding of environmental protection and contribute to environmental protection.
