Xu, Xiuyong: Stop June 4th Event Happen Again

It would be the anniversary of June 4th event again in a few days. Every year, around this time, people around the world would write articles, display pictures, and hold rallies to commemorate this event. When we see the picture of common people were trampled to death by tanks in Tiananmen Square, young students were so helpless while the army was shooting, all the conscience people would be filled with anger. All the scenes of army killing people show the crimes committed by the communist government in the early morning of June 4, 1989.
Chinese people would never forget the Tiananmen Square massacre happened on June 4th, 1989. This is the most brutal atrocity in China’s modern history, and all the Chinese people would remember this day. People would never forget the commanders of this massacre; they would never forget the autocratic government’s lie. I hope that one day the Chinese people can use legal means to look into this massacre event.
June 4th event in 1989 leave the whole nation and all the people a wound that cannot be healed. We urge the Chinese government to respect the historical fact, and learn lessons from history. Tyranny and violence will never solve any problem; it will never conquer the people; and it will never stop people’s step in pursuing of democracy, freedom, human rights and rule of law. Only by implementing a democratic system in China, can similar incidents be avoided.
